Cortisol

Allostatic Load
The cumulative wear on the body caused by repeated or chronic stress. High allostatic load over time may contribute to physical health problems including cardiovascular and metabolic issues.
Rumination
Repetitive, often unproductive thinking about problems, mistakes, or worries. Unlike problem-solving, rumination cycles through the same thoughts without reaching resolution, and can worsen anxiety and low mood.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
A clinical condition characterized by persistent, excessive worry about multiple areas of life — work, health, relationships — for at least six months. It is diagnosed and treated by licensed healthcare professionals.
Somatic Symptoms
Physical sensations that arise from psychological stress, such as headaches, muscle tension, stomach upset, or fatigue. They reflect the body-mind connection and are not imagined, even when no physical cause is found.
Parasympathetic Nervous System

Window of Tolerance
